Kenyan Nurses Embark on a New Journey to Germany

Over 150 nurses have already been successfully placed with 31 hospitals and care homes in Germany, alongside around 10 ECDE teachers. These placements, arranged directly without any intermediary agencies, highlight the effectiveness of AG German Institute’s seamless process in connecting Kenyan healthcare professionals with international opportunities.
On Friday, 14th March 2025, AG German Institute hosted a heartwarming farewell event for nurses who completed their training and secured visas to begin their professional journey in Germany. Held at Hotel Boulevard, the event celebrated their achievements and showcased Kenya’s growing role in structured migration pathways that create career opportunities and address global skill gaps.
The event was graced by representatives from the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, including Amb. Isaiya Kabira, Director Ms. Irene Karari, and Mr. Abdilbasid Hassan, underscoring the Kenyan government’s support for organized migration programs that equip professionals with the skills needed to thrive internationally. Mr. Brian O. Ouma, Chief Operating Officer of the University of Nairobi, also spoke at the event, highlighting the vital role that strong institutional partnerships play in preparing professionals for global careers.
Kerem Akdogan, Tobias Glaszner, and Victor Lekaram, co-founders of AG German Institute, shared the institute’s inspiring journey from providing German language education to becoming the largest and most successful German institute in Kenya and East Africa. With a strong presence in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, and Mombasa, the institute continues to offer world-class training, empowering professionals to build careers in Germany. Notably, in Mombasa and Kisumu, AG German Institute conducts its German language classes in partnership with the University of Nairobi at its campuses, further strengthening the educational framework supporting students in these regions.
The event was filled with emotion as nurses, some traveling from as far as Eldoret, eagerly anticipated the next chapter of their careers. Surrounded by faculty members, students, and key stakeholders, they expressed gratitude for the support received throughout their training and visa process.
